REMPLOY BUILDING PRODUCTS COMPLETES BRADFORD COUNCIL CONTRACT

A council-owned administration building in Bradford has been given a new lease of life following the installation of uPVC windows manufactured by Remploy Building Products. Phase two of four programmes of the Flockton House refurbishment project has just been completed in contract worth around £150,000 in total.

Remploy is the UK’s largest employer of disabled people. Through a competitive tender, their building products business was selected by Bradford City Council because it offered a quality product allied to ethical employment.

The two-storey building close to the city centre houses the construction, design and maintenance functions of the council, as well as highways department. Some 171 Remploy ‘System 10’ uPVC 70mm profile windows have been installed, glazed in bronze anti-sun laminated glass to ensure thermal control within the building.

Remploy Building Products has also completed other projects for Bradford City Council, including a junior school in Keighley and a caretaker’s house attached to a school.

Phase three of the refurbishment of Flockton House is about to start, and the final work will commence in the financial year 2006/07.

Remploy Building Products is part of Remploy Ltd, the UK’s largest provider of employment opportunities for people with health conditions and disabilities. Last year, it helped into work more than 12,000 people with a range of physical, sensory and mental disabilities.
